Tell the printer it's labels
If your printer's settings offer a paper type for labels or heavy paper, pick it before you print.

The same layout for a different printer: both are 30 labels of 1 × 2-5/8 in in the same places, and Avery's template downloads for 8160 and 5160 are the same file, which this page follows. Avery's 8160 page still says each product needs its own template for best results; the difference it names is the printer: 8160 for inkjet printers, 5160 for laser printers.
The printer and the pack. 8160 is for inkjet printers, 750 labels (25 sheets) a pack; 5160 is for laser printers, 3,000 labels (100 sheets). The labels are the same size, in the same places.
All four are the same sheet; the printer and the pack differ. 18160 is for laser or inkjet, 300 labels (10 sheets) a pack; 8460 is for inkjet, 3,000 labels (100 sheets); 5260 is for laser, 750 labels (25 sheets). The whole family.
You don't need one: this page makes a PDF that is ready to print. In Word, go to Mailings > Labels > Options, choose Avery US Letter under Label vendors, then 8160 as the product number (Microsoft's steps); on a Mac, an Avery option under Label products, then 8160 (Word for Mac). If it isn't listed, 5160 has the same layout. Google Docs has no label sheets built in, and Canva is made for designs; for a list of addresses, the editor fills every label from your spreadsheet.
Open the workbook in the editor, or paste its cells there, with 8160 chosen. Every row becomes a label; download the PDF and print it at 100%. No Word and no mail merge: how your columns are read.
Check that the print dialog says 100% (Actual size), not "Fit to page", and that the sheets feed straight. If the print still sits a little off, print the test sheet on the calibration page and save a correction for your printer.
Paste your spreadsheet or open a CSV or Excel file: one label per row, on as many 8160 sheets as it takes.
